What we collect
Browsing SWABUD does not require an account. When you use a form (contact, alerts, submit, report, join or partner) or email us, we receive the details you choose to send, such as your name, email address and message.
Accounts
If you create an account, we store your name, email address, the profile details you add (college, programme, city, interests and alert choice), your saved opportunities with the stages, checklist and notes you set, your learning-path progress, and the opportunities you submit. To show what's new since your last visit, your browser also remembers when you last visited (on your device only). If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile photo with us; we never see your Google password. Account data is stored with Supabase, our authentication and database provider, and protected so that only you can read your own profile, tracker and notes. Passwords are stored by Supabase as secure hashes, never in plain text.
How forms are delivered
Our forms are delivered to info@swabud.tech by FormSubmit, an email forwarding service. Your form contents pass through that service only to reach our inbox. If it is unavailable, the site prepares an email you can send yourself.
How we use it
Only to reply to you, review and publish submissions, send the alerts you asked for, and fix errors you report. We do not use it for advertising.
Sharing
We never sell or rent personal information. We share it only if the law requires it. Opportunity details you submit, such as the title, organizer and official link, may be published on the site.
Storage and deletion
We keep form emails for up to 12 months after they are no longer needed, then delete them. To unsubscribe from alerts, or to see or delete what we hold about you, email info@swabud.tech.
Saved opportunities and theme
Without an account, bookmarks and your light or dark mode choice are stored only in your own browser (local storage) and never reach us. When you log in, your bookmarks are copied to your account so they appear on your other devices. Logging out removes them from that browser.
Deleting your account
Use Request account deletion in your profile settings, or email info@swabud.tech from the address on your account. We delete your account, profile, tracker and notes within 30 days. Opportunities you submitted that were published may stay on the site without your name.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses no advertising cookies. It may use privacy-respecting analytics to count page visits.
Third-party sites
Opportunity links open the organizer's own website, which has its own privacy policy. Read it before you apply.
Law
We handle personal information in line with Nepal's Individual Privacy Act, 2018 (2075): collected with consent, for a stated purpose, and not used or shared beyond it.
